- National Domestic Violence Awareness Month—October is National Domestic Violence Awareness Month. Tragically, approximately four million women are abused by their spouses or partners each day! An educational campaign is developed and launched during this month to build community awareness. - National Sexual Assault Awareness Month—April is National Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM). SAAM provides an opportunity to raise awareness of the prevalence of sexual violence in our society and to emphasize the need for active citizen involvement in efforts to end sexual violence.
- Girls Empowerment Group—Empowers girls to become more independent and increases awareness of obstacles that girls may face in today’s world. Group is held Tuesdays and Thursdays 1:30pm–3:30pm at Jane Frazier Village Community Center (group resumes in June). Fun Activities and crafts, learn about self esteem, peer pressure, the Buddy System, bullying, stereotypes, and much more. Light snack and beverages.
